Brian Schuster, M.D. ‘72

Brian G. Schuster, M.D. ’72 is deputy director of the military infectious diseases research program at the US Department of Defense. He retired as a colonel in the Army. He was science director for the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research. Schuster is principal investigator of a $6 million NIH grant concerned with integrating drug discovery from natural products, biodiversity conservation and sustainable economic development in Central and West Africa. He was elected to fellowship in the American College of Physicians and given the Order of Military Medical Merit for outstanding contributions to military medicine.
