Former administrator and faculty member Jorge Guerra, B.S. ’68, M.D. ’72, has watched the University of Miami’s national reputation for excellence grow over the past four decades. A recently retired professor in the Department of Radiology at the Miller School of Medicine, Guerra also has contributed to the University’s success, donating annually to his alma mater for the past 34 years.

UHealth Celebrates Opening of Medical Center at Miami Jackson Senior High School

With the cutting of a green ribbon, UHealth – The University of Miami Health System and Miami-Dade County Public Schools celebrated a first-of-its-kind healthcare partnership. Dozens of people attended the September 16 ribbon cutting for the ceremonial opening of the UHealth Medical Center at Miami Jackson Senior High School, which is designed to provide accessible and affordable healthcare.

Families Encouraged to Get Involved at Medical Parents Association Orientation

Amid the pride and excitement of sending their daughters and sons off for the first year at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, parents recently had the opportunity to see how they, too, can become a vital link in the educational experience. The Medical Parents Association (MPA) held an orientation session August 6 to welcome the Class of 2018, and to urge their families to get involved.
