“Stethoscopes for Students” Program Welcomes Medical Students for a Second Year

The Miller School’s Class of 2020 was surprised with a gift of one of the most enduring symbols of the medical profession. The “Stethoscopes for Students” program, run by the UM Medical Alumni Association (MAA), provided stethoscopes to all 196 incoming students as a way of welcoming them to the medical school.

The stethoscopes, which have the Miller School name inscribed on it, were presented at the student orientation in August by Vicky Egusquiza, M.D. ’87, president of the MAA.

For a second year, all alumni and faculty were asked to donate $250 to provide this treasured gift to our medical students. We had a strong response, but we still need your help to ensure the program becomes an annual tradition.

Thank you to our alumni and faculty whose gifts helped make a difference!
